The Enterprise is captured by a powerfull ship but turns out to be a test to assertain the Federations intentions.

The Enterprise is hijacked by Spock to return Captain Pike to the plant Talos IV where the Talonians could give him a new life using their powers of illusion.

Dr McCoy flees through a time portal into ancient Earth while suffering from an accidental drug overdose. He arrives in the 1930's where he causes serious damage to the flow of history.
